PHOTO DUMP

You should have guessed from the title of this post that there will be rather a lot of photos here. Be warned :) I've got MONTHS of pics that are soon to be posted to the mcdonald.ws boards, but I do want to put a few pics here, too. You know, just 20 or 30 or so ... :)

Way back when, all the way back in January, we went to Fairyland in Oakland with friends. A few cute pics of the kids from the outing:


In February we studied the Ancient Mesopotamians and Ancient Egyptians and their styles of writing. Sayer got to create her own messages and translate them into cuneiform and hieroglyphics. Or try to. She was much more successful with the cuneiform than at the hieroglyphics. But then, I had no better luck with hieroglyphics than she did.

In March Sayer wanted to check in on the adventures the 'Flat McDonalds' were having with Aunt Jodi. So she wrote this letter.


In April I took the kids to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. Most of the pictures I took there didn't come out well (no flash down in the 'tomb' and Duncan wouldn't stand still), but here are two of Sayer - one in front of the tomb painting depicting the weighing of a heart against the feather of truth, and the other in front of a replica of the stele on which Hammurabi's code was carved.


In May we took the kids to the JPL open house, where Sayer and Duncan had fun laying down with scads of other kids and letting the Mars Rover roll over them. Yes, Duncan's hair is green.


While we were at the open house we also had our picture taken with their 3D camera and they inserted our image into a flying saucer over a Martian landscape. I don't have that one handy, but here's one of the kids playing with their 3D glasses.


In June the kids came with me to an MB event in Santa Rosa, and tried on the fabulous leather wings at the vendor booth across from us. Sayer's hair is aqua blue. Duncan's is green, but fading. I like the kids to stand out in a crowd :)

In July the kids and I went to the High Sierra Music Festival to run a booth for Mom's Breastaurant. It's a four-day-long camping event. Just before we left for the event I took Duncan to get his hair cut. The salon is geared for kids and had several options for 'fun' chairs to sit in and watch movies while getting their hair cut. Duncan chose to sit in the Lightning McQueen car ...


And then at the event, here's a pic of Sayer looking slightly disheveled after running around playing in the kid's area all day.


There you have it. Pictures from the last 7 months. And that does not even begin to get me caught up. Oh well :)
