Sayer was so excited this morning when I reminded her that she was to have her first piano lesson today. She asked how much longer we had to wait about 50 times between 10 AM and when the lesson started at 3 PM. She told her teacher how excited she was as soon as she walked in the door :)
She and her instructor disappeared into the office/classroom and worked with rhythm sticks, introducing her to Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse, sang a few songs, learned about black keys in 2s and 3s, and played one song on the piano. The instructor purchased a workbook for Sayer, but couldn't find a copy of the other book. She hopes to have it for her next week. But she copied pages of it for me and gave Sayer 2 pages of homework from the workbook that involve coloring pages that look like a keyboard.
Next task - buy a keyboard. We may have stumbled on to one last night while visiting friends ...
And after the class, Sayer announced that she loved it and can't wait to take more classes. Not just piano, but voice and guitar and flute and violin and drums ...

Uh ohhhhhhhhhhhh.................... haha, thats awesome!
ReplyDeleteI think learning the violin would be great for her! All the good musicians start out young...AND the little violins are so cute! You could put it in a shadow box for her when she gets older!
