Duncan LOVES super heroes ...

He is always asking if he can watch Spiderman or Batman. He'd take Superman in a pinch. When we pass backpacks or lunchboxes or toys or clothes with any of the above-mentioned characters on them he has to stop and point them out to me with a huge smile. We have a general ban on buying items with characters on them - not just super heroes, all characters - but occasionally we end up with a book about a character. And today we got a book/magnet set full of super heroes. Duncan was in HEAVEN.

It was donated to the library, but it's not a book and it might be difficult to sell, so when another volunteer showed it to me as a possible pitch-able, I told her that if she showed it to Duncan he'd love her forever. She walked over to him and got his attention and showed it to him and he was hugging it immediately. He did remember to thank her, but he was so over-awed at the object in his arms ... :)

It's got a booklet identifying heroes and villains and a bunch of magnets of same, plus a couple pages of background to put over the magnetic backing of the case to create a scene in which your heroes and villains can duke it out.

So, no, we won't be getting Spiderman pajamas or Batman car toys or anything like that, but we've now got a book and a bunch of magnets and a very happy little boy.
