I've mentioned before that Sayer believes that she has magic. She can make the lights turn green, make the van door open, and make the cars in front of us get out of our way. But her biggest magic trick ever - and the one that was REAL magic - was when she turned me from being a woman into being a Mommy. She knows that was the BIG one.
Tonight we were explaining family relationships and how my sisters are her aunts, how Mark's sister and brother are her aunt and uncle, how she will be an aunt to her brother's kids and he'll be an uncle to hers ... and that when she does have kids she'll do her 2nd biggest magic trick ever (assuming that Duncan doesn't beat her to it) and turn us into Grandparents.
We told her, though, that that trick would not happen for a long time. First she'd have to go to school and get a job and do other grown up things. Then she might find someone to love and have babies with and turn us into Grandparents.
She accepted this. Then said, 'so I have to do grown up things first, like ... learn to cut with pointy scissors?'
I almost fell down laughing. Yep. That's my super magical girl.
