In the high desert climate of southern Oregon, mosquitoes are flourishing. Might have something to do with the water from the hot springs ...
I am apparently quite a tasty treat. As was Lalu (one of the younger children in our weekend gathering). Sayer was yummy, but not as much as me or Lalu. And Duncan tastes quite bad. The mosquitoes positively turned up their probisci at him. Not one single bite on the boy. NOT ONE. Where I have about 50 (mostly on my feet), Lalu has probably 40 (a bunch or her poor little face!) and Sayer has about 30 all over, Duncan has not one. I am pretty sure he is the only one from the whole gathering (11 kids and 7 adults) to come away itch-free. Little booger.
