More ETC, more volcanos, more mosquito bites

Sayer managed one of her least favorite ETC pages today - she doesn't like the ones where she has to write the words 3 times, and today she had to do it in a cast. She did it, and 4 more pages, then she had an impromptu math lesson with Chanda and her unit manipulatives.

We read a book from the 'recommended reading' section of SotW for the chapter on Ancient Africa. Rimonah of the Flashing Sword. A north African tale that was Snow White meets Ali Baba. Interesting.

Our mosquito bite count on Sayer is up to 20. Might be 21 - on of the bites looks like it might actually be 2 that are really close together. Chanda and I googled to see if we could find a repellent that might work. The list of oils that mosquitoes don't like included thyme ... which we happened to have on hand. I told Sayer that the mosquitoes liked meat (that's why they're eating her) so we were going to disguise her as salad. :) We'll spritz her again in the morning and count new bites tomorrow evening. Here's hoping the mosquitoes are deterred!

The kids got out the vinegar and baking soda again today and made more volcanos in the back yard. They're also in the process of building a nice little wall with their mud bricks. I wonder how tall it will be by the time we leave.
