Today we read about Shamshi-Adad and the Assyrians. Polar opposite of Hammurabi as kings go. Then we read about Gilgamesh, who was legendary among both the Assyrians and the Babylonians.
Sayer enjoyed the story as it was retold in the SotW book, so I got out the trilogy by Ludmila Zeman and we read it again. Her illustrations are gorgeous!
Sayer really liked the story. And she had fun drawing her own picture of Enkidu afterwards. He's a cute shaggy beast man. No wonder Shamhat fell for him :)
