Understanding money

Sayer's been doing a couple pages in the Kumon money/math book for about 10 days. She's thoroughly familiar with a penny equaling 1 cent and pretty darn clear on a nickel equaling 5 cents. Proof of this came today, when we found a nickel and four pennies on a table when we stopped for lunch. I asked Sayer how much money was there and she didn't count the coins to give the answer, she calculated their values and told me it was 9 cents.

Next stop - dimes!

  1. Great job Sawyer :) We need to start working on quarters here, but I think that will be more of a challenge than anything else!
