First day back to 'normal' life and classes

We got home from our trip to Oregon yesterday. Today we had swim class, piano lessons, and karate, plus volunteering at the library, and other errands to run. Ah, yes, back to life as 'normal.'

Except ...

Our time slot for swim classes got bumped by an hour, so we showed up at 9 AM and got to wait until 10:10. Yay. Next session they said we could switch back, as it was a shortage of staff that kept us from the 9 AM time slot and they'll be adding someone back to the roster. So, the next 3 classes will be at a later time, then we'll be gone for 2-3 classes while in Tucson, but when we come back we'll be back to normal. Ah well, in the meantime, maybe I'll get to sleep in on swim class days, right? :D I know, I know. In my dreams.

Then this afternoon when Sayer went to The Little Gym for karate the instructors needed to talk to me about switching Duncan's gymnastics class on Wednesday. Enrollment was so low (apparently a couple of the kids had dropped or switched to another time, leaving just 2 in the class) that they canceled it. They asked if we wanted to move Duncan to a Friday class, but I'm trying really hard to keep our out-of-the-house classes grouped on Mondays and Wednesdays, so that the rest of the week we can aim for productive days of school work at home, so Friday wasn't really an option. We looked at putting him in a class at 6:30 on Monday nights, which would mean that between Sayer's karate and Duncan's gym we'd have an hour to kill (which would likely mean eating out somewhere ... blah). In the end Duncan decided that he really wanted to stay in a class taught by Mr. Ernie, so we put him in the Sports Skills class on Wednesdays, right after Sayer's dance class. Convenient :) The sports class still involves a lot of gymnastics, and Duncan got to stay with his teacher ... It all worked out in the end :)

Piano lesson was fine. Library time was short, but fine. Errands got run. Going to be reading library books about the 7 wonders of the ancient world tonight, and maybe starting a book about Roman myth or the Trojan war as well. We're just about to start the Greek and Roman chapters of SotW ...
