Moving right along in ETC 4

We got to the middle of the book and encountered the first thing that made Sayer stop and say 'what do I do here?' It was the introduction of open and closed syllables, then all the rules about where and how to split words into syllables - between repeated consonants, between two consonants that are between two vowels, etc. She liked the page where she had to draw open or closed mouths on the smiley faces to show open or closed syllables and said she hopes there are more of those :) But we've slowed down just a tad to make sure we understand what we're doing with the words and syllables.
